By now we all know that Demi Lovato is all about giving back! The “Skyscraper” singer just announced that she will be encouraging teens to partake in DoSomething.org and Aeropostle’s fifth annual Teens for Jeans organization as the cause’s spokesperson.

The recent People’s Choice Award winner is asking fellow teenagers and fans to donate gently worn jeans to those less fortunate all over the country. “I’m donating my jeans,” Demi, 19, says in the above video. “Clean out your closet and donate yours, too.” How do you get involved and send your jeans to those in need?

Demi Lovato gave fans the surprise of a lifetime when she appeared on an 18-wheeler outside the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta last month, performing her latest single, 'Give Your Heart a Break,' as a part of VEVO GO's concert series.

The event was filmed for all of her fans to see, and is now available online, complete with behind-the-scenes interviews. "I'm actually really nervous right now, because I've never done a 'Go' show and I've never done an unannounced show before," Demi said before her big surprise appearance.

Naturally, as she rounded the corner on the big truck, fans began screaming and running to the mobile stage. She nailed her rendition of the 'Unbroken' track, stoking out the many Lovatics waiting outside the venue.

Afterwards, Demi expressed how much fun she had, and is looking forward to doing another impromptu show in the future. "I would love to do that again," she added. Demi Lovato updated her fans on her latest venture today, tweeting that she was headed to a photo shoot with celebrity photographer Tyler Shields. The 19-year-old pop star is on a hot streak at the moment, having taken home Favorite Pop Choice last week at the People's Choice Awards. The young singer is really amping up her effort to break out of the Disney stereotype. Shields is known for daring and shocking shoots, so it makes perfect sense that Demi Lovato would want to shoot with him.

Hollywood Life reports that Demi Lovato tweeted, "Doing a crazy photoshoot with the infamous/brilliant @tylershields.. Beyond excited.. But um I hope I survive....... :P" She then later tweeted that she had glass in her hair from the shoot! Maybe Lovato and Shields are collaborating on something with broken glass as a theme? For Lindsay Lohan's shoot, he covered the star blood and duct tape. We're not sure if we want to see Lovato taking it that far, but it is always nice to see performers taking risks in the photography department. Awards season kicked off Wednesday night with the People's Choice Awards. One of the big winners of the night was Katy Perry, who, despite having canceled her appearance at the show, took home five awards, including Favorite Female Artist. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" won four awards, including Favorite Movie and Favorite Book Adaptation.

But the night wasn't all about the awards; it was also about the fashion. Some of the biggest stars in Hollywood came out sporting bright colors, detailed sleeves and some fashion-forward, futuristic looks.

Ruling the red carpet were young starlets like Vanessa Hudgens, who dazzled in a spider-web inspired gown by Jenny Packham. "It's fun, it's daring and definitely not of the norm," Hudgens told MTV News on the red carpet. "I think that's kind of me."Another standout on the red carpet was Demi Lovato, who not only performed her new single, "Give Your Heart a Break," but also took home the award for Favorite Pop Artist. Lovato stunned in a long, salmon-colored gown with a jewel-encrusted bodice by Marchesa.

"I loved Demi Lovato's gown from Marchesa," Celebuzz Senior Producer Jackie Willis told MTV News. "Looks stunning, hugged everything right."Taking a fashion risk on the carpet was "Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale. The young actress wore a crystal-encrusted Cengiz Abazoglu gown with a side train, which not only showed off a shoulder cut-out, but her maturing style as well.

"I didn't know if I wanted to do long or short, so I did both," Hale said. "I mean I sort of feel like I've been growing up more. It's just a little bit sexier, it's enough fun, but still kind of classy."The one person who may have stolen the show from all the ladies was Robert Pattinson. It wasn't his outfit that shocked fans (he went casual in jeans), but his new buzz cut.

Taking her turn on the big stage, Demi Lovato offered up a rockin' performance at the 38th People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles. The “Camp Rock 2” star received a standing ovation at the Nokia Theatre venue while treating the audience and viewers at home to a rendition of her hit song "Give Your Heart a Break".

Also among the nominees of the evening, Miss Lovato took home Favorite Pop Star after beating out fellow nominees Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. With Faith Hill also performing during the night's festivities, this year's People's Choice Awards were hosted by "Big Bang Theory" actress Kaley Cuoco.

Singer-actress Demi Lovato has reportedly split from actor Wilmer Valderrama. The couple never publicly confirmed their romance, but were caught on camera kissing several times following weeks of speculation about their relationship. However, it seems the union is over as insiders told eonline.com that the 12-year age-gap proved too much for the couple.

Lovato, 19, took to her Twitter page to post a string of messages relating to men issues. She `re-tweeted` a Marilyn Monroe quotation reading, "A wise girl kisses but doesn`t love, listens but doesn`t believe, and leaves before she is left", before adding: "The smartest thing a woman can ever learn, is to never need a man."Lovato has previously dated pop star Joe Jonas.

Demi Lovato has split from her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama. The former Disney actress tonight tweeted a link to a news article about them going their separate ways - apparently confirming the rumours. The 19-year-old star and 31-year-old Wilmer - best know for his role in That '70s Show - started quietly dating again back in November after previously being linked together.

They were spotted sharing a public clinch shortly after Demi entered rehab for eating disorders and biopolar disorder. On Monday night the actress-turned singer hinted all was not well with a string of tweets. 'Loyalty is EVERYTHING.. I’m thankful for my friends who stand by my side,' she posted. It was followed by a retweet of quote from Marilyn Monroe, which one of her followers sent to her: 'A wise girl kisses but doesn’t love, listens but doesn’t believe, and leaves before she is left.'

She then wrote: 'The smartest thing a woman can ever learn, is to never need a man.'These tweets have since apparently been removed. Demi is now focusing on her music career after saying she found it too difficult to see herself. She will be performing tomorrow night at the People's Choice Awards.

Demi Lovato has begun the New Year focusing on her philanthropy. The “Skyscraper” star’s latest Public Service Announcement (PSA) focuses on the homelessness issue among teens in the United States.

“All teens go through hard times,” Lovato says at the beginning of the commercial.  “But, did you know that 2 million teens have nowhere to go at night?”

Lovato, who was nominated as one of the most involved celebrities of 2011 on DoSomething.org’s website, urges teens to get involved with the organization’s “Teen for Jeans” campaign. “I’m donating my jeans,” Lovato continues, filled with enthusiasm. “Clean up your closet and donate yours too.”

This isn’t the first time Lovato speaks to youth. Recently the former Disney starlet  took time out of her busy schedule to be an inspirational speaker at the same facility where, just a year ago, she checked herself in for self-mutilation issues as well as eating and bipolar disorders.

"Today I went back to the treatment center I went to last year to speak to the beautiful women fighting their inner demons,” Lovato posted on her Twitter account, “to be able to share my story and let them know that it gets easier. Life is beautiful.... You are worthy of it.”

The former “Sonny With a Chance” actress called it quits on an international tour with the Jonas Brothers to take time for herself and deal with her "emotional and physical issues," according to a statement from her representative.

Lovato claimed that rehab was “probably the darkest time in my life,” and has thanked her fans on multiple occasions via Twitter for their support throughout her gloomy situation.

“Many tears were shed and many memories were brought back at Timberline Knolls today,” Lovato said in another tweet. “Please say a prayer for all of those struggling with eating disorders, self harm, mood disorders, and substance abuse.”

Singer-actress Demi Lovato will appear this February at the Iquique Festival in Chile, where she will share the stage with Colombian pop star Juanes. This will be the 19-year-old singer's third appearance in Chile, where in 2009 she sang for the Jonas Brothers, an American boy band, and performed solo in May 2010.
The contest kicks off Feb 3 with performances by a trio comprising Spain's Alex Ubago, Colombian Jorge Villamizar and Cuba's Lena Burke. Chilean singer El Gitano and reggae star Tito El Bambino will also perform.

Juanes and Demi Lovato will perform Februry 4, while the next day, the last day of the festival, will feature Chilean balladeer Myriam Hernandez and Mexico's Juan Gabriel. Lovato, of Mexican, Irish and Italian descent, starred as Allison Sonny Munroe on Disney Channel's children's sitcom Sonny with a Chance in 2009 and 2010. She later underwent treatment for an eating disorder.
